Hi there!
I'll be up front with you, my name isn't actually Martha.
Yup! You heard me right. My name is Ashley! I was in my early twenties when my roommate's mom told me I was "just like Martha Stewart!" I don't really remember what I did to make her say that, probably redecorating our dorm for the 100th time or attempting a DIY project in our 9th floor cubicle? But after a night of laughs (& a few cheese curds) the name stuck.
I've never written about my home projects because I've never had a home to write about! But in the summer of 2020 my husband & I purchased our first home: an 1878 Victorian in the historic district of a small town in Wisconsin - hence the Midwest in Martha.
Our old home comes with a lot of imperfections, & I mean a lot! My goal is to encourage you to lean into the crooked walls, sand the glue off the floors, hang the pictures up & hang them again when you need a change of scenery. Life is too short to wait for the "perfect home".
